Chief Appraiser Tyler Mullins attends FCBT Association Young Leadership Program Tour in NYC, D.C.

Mississippi Land Bank Chief Appraiser, Tyler Mullins, was amongst the delegates who attended. the 2024 Farm Credit Bank of Texas Association Leadership Program (ALP) to New York and Washington, D.C., last week.

The program offers association staff a broad national view of the Farm Credit System and provides opportunities to interact with policy leaders in Washington. It also gives a behind-the-scenes look at how funding flows from the nation’s money markets to Farm Credit’s customers.

"The trip was an excellent opportunity to learn about a side of the Farm Credit System that many never get to see," Tyler said.  Seeing behind the scenes of where the Farm Credit bonds are sold and the Funding Corps where all of the Farm Credits in the country get their money from was very interesting."

During the week, delegates across the five-state district toured the Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation in New Jersey, explored the Financial District in New York, and visited legislators on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

While visiting the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) headquarters in Virginia, the group met with FCA senior leaders about local lending conditions. Delegates spent the final day on Capitol Hill in Washington, sharing the Farm Credit story with congressional leaders and staff.

"It's an honor to meet with our legislators and speak on behalf of our stockholders about the issues they face," Tyler said. "Additionally, the trip gave me an opportunity to network with other Farm Credit employees across our district. I am so grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow."
