We’re proud to spotlight Watson Turnipseed, a fifth-generation farmer whose diverse talents span law, music, and production. His deep love for agriculture guides everything he does. We’re thankful for his commitment and honored to be part of his lifelong journey.
Watson was born and raised in Sumner, Mississippi, and it quickly became clear that farming was the work he loved most, continuing the tradition his family has upheld for generations.
Watson launched Watson Planting Company, LLC in 2022 and turned to Mississippi Land Bank for support. “Without the Land Bank, I don’t know what I’d be doing,” he adds. “I linked up with Mississippi Land Bank for all of my operating loans… it’s as easy as one, two, three.”
Working alongside William Coleman, Senior Loan Officer, Watson is focused on long-term growth. “We have a clear goal of how to scale this thing over the next 50 years—how to grow this enterprise into something that can sustain me, my family, and feed the world.”
