2022 Dixie National Sale of Junior Champions
Mississippi Land Bank is a proud supporter of 4-H and FFA, and the biggest livestock exhibition in Mississippi: The Dixie Nationals. This year, 1,500 young people exhibited over 2,000 head of livestock, in hopes of securing a spot in the Sale of Junior Champions.
People from all over the state have a chance to purchase the 46 champion animals, including businesses, legislators, and commodity organizations. All of the proceeds goes back to the 4-H and FFA members for scholarships to further their education.
Mississippi Land Bank purchased several animals in the sale, and we are proud to give back to these youth, who are the future of our agriculture industry. The 53rd annual sale was a record-breaking success, grossing $448,500. Since its start in 1971, the Sale of Junior Champions has been raising funds for thousands of young agricultural enthusiasts.
Our hope is for these young people to further their education, secure a job in Mississippi, and give back to the agriculture industry. The opportunities in agriculture are far greater than they've ever been before, and the goal of this sale is to strengthen the industry for many years to come.
